Location of the ConferenceArrival & Address
The
conference will be held at the School of Music, Victoria University of
Wellington. The school buildings will be the main venue for
registration, conference papers, displays, refreshments and conference-related
events. Conference events
will also take place on campus at Te Herenga Waka (the conference marae
welcome), the Hunter Council Chamber, and the Adam Art Gallery.
Some events may also take place in downtown Wellington in Te Papa
Tongareva, the new National Museum of New Zealand. ArrivalThe
School of Music buildings are approached through University Gate 7 on
Kelburn Parade. Car parking
is available in the staff car park below the school buildings. Parking permits will be available for conference delegates
from the conference reception desk during the conference. The
list of accommodations (below) are all within walking distance of the
School of Music. Weir
House, the recommended university hall of residence, is 5 minutes walk
from the School and is situated beside Wellington’s famous Cable Car,
which connects the campus to the downtown shopping area. Most international flights arrive in Wellington after midnight. Shuttles provide an inexpensive and efficient service to the city and campus. The cost of a shuttle to Weir house is $15 (less for a party). Phone (04) 387 8787.
