Musicology Australia Contact Details Editor, Musicology Australia: Paul
Watt Musicology Australia is the scholarly journal of the Musicological Society of Australia, publishing both articles and reviews. After due refereeing process, the editor is open to accept articles by Australian contributors or by others, on any subject pertaining to musical scholarship. the journal also publishes a register of members' publications, and registers of undergraduate and postgraduate theses in music submitted to Australian and New Zealand universities. Manuscript submission 1. Manuscripts should be 7,000-10,000 words, although shorter manuscripts will also be considered. Book reviews normally should be up to 2,000 words. 2. Three copies of each manuscript must be submitted, with an abstract of no more than 100 words (for inclusion in the journal) and brief biographical data on the author (for inclusion in Notes on Contributors). 3. Manuscripts must be typed on A4 sheets, single-sided, double-spaced. Footnotes, references, illustrations and tables must appear on separate sheets. Illustrations must be camera ready. 4. Reference citations and bibliographic forms should follow those appearing in this issue. Manuscript processing 1. Manuscripts
may be sent at any time to: 2. Receipt of manuscripts will be acknowledged. 3. Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two readers and the editor. Taking into account the reports of the readers, the editor will either accept, accept subject to revision, or reject the manuscript, and will notify the author in writing detailing any required revisions as appropriate. The editor's decision will be final, and no discussion of the merits or otherwise of a rejected manuscript will be entered into by the editor with the author. 4. The revision process ordinarily will be completed within three months. If processing is delayed, authors will be notified. 5. When a manuscript is accepted for publication, the author will be notified of the issue in which it will appear. Because of space and cost limitations, it may not be possible to include a manuscript accepted for publication in the next issue. Authors will have the opportunity to withdraw a manuscript if the delay is unacceptable. 6. Manuscripts are accepted for publication subject to stylistic editing. Proofs will be sent to authors for final checking. Authors will be notified of the period when proofs will be sent to them and will be expected to return corrected proofs within seven days of receipt. Appropriate advertisements are invited for future issues of Musicology Australia. Current rates of AUD $500 per page (pro-rated for smaller advertisements).
