Katelyn
Barney
Dr. Katelyn Barney completed her PhD through the School of Music at
the University of Queensland researching Indigenous Australian women
performing in contemporary music contexts. She currently also lectures
at the University of Queensland and the Australian Catholic University
and teaches piano privately. Her research interests lie in areas of
ethnomusicology, cross-cultural studies in music performance, women's
studies and popular music.
Brydie-Leigh
Bartleet
Dr. Brydie-Leigh Bartleet is a Research Fellow and Lecturer at the Queensland
Conservatorium, Griffith University. She is currently working on an
ARC Linkage project called Sound Links, which examines the relationships
between community music and formal music education. She also teaches
courses in musicology, music history, popular culture, and research
methods. Her research interests lie in women's studies, autoethnography,
peer learning, and cultural theory.
Gavin
Carfoot
Gavin Carfoot is an Associate Lecturer at the Queensland Conservatorium's
Gold Coast campus, where he teaches popular music studies, music history
and analysis, and music technology. His research interests lie in the
broad areas of critical and cultural theory, and their intersections
with popular and contemporary musical culture..
Huib
Schippers
Prof. Huib Schippers has performed as sitarist across Europe, India
and the United States, having had twenty years of traditional training
in Indian classical music. He has held many key management, development,
teaching and research positions at Amsterdam Music School, LOKV Netherlands
Institute for Arts Education, Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Academy
for Music and Dance (Rotterdam). He is currently Director of the Queensland
Conservatorium Research Centre.
