MSAQ Annual Lecture

First established in 2002, the annual lecture aims to promote music research by inviting a distinguished scholar to present their work. It is particularly designed to stimulate interest in the broad questions that face music researchers, and encourages an interaction between members of MSAQ, scholars from disciplines other than musicology, and other interested members of the public.

Each year that it has been held, the lecture has provided stimulating content and discussion on musical research. In addition to these benefits, it also provides a good opportunity for colleagues to get together in a social atmosphere. Past presenters have included Phillip Gosset (2006), Phil Hayward (2004), Linda Barwick (2003) and Gordon Spearritt (2002).
